Spiral Staircase France
Case Study Model 76
Just south or Bordeaux, France, our client had just purchased a property to retire to. Given its age – planning permission was granted to knock it down and build a new house. The style of the new build furnishing was airy, open and light and they required a bespoke spiral staircase to suit. They bought most of their fixtures and fittings in the UK and that including their model 76 spiral staircase which we delivered direct to site.
The design and rotation of the spiral were fairly standard but they had a huge opening in the floor above and wanted to position the centre column in t he centre. This meant a 2m x 2m square platform at the top connecting the column to the edge of the floor. This was an unusual size so we enlisted a structural engineer to ensure the bracket below was sufficient to take the load over the span.
The result was a stunning floating transparent floor!
Custom Made Spiral Staircase
Every model 76 spiral stair produced is made individually. This one had the top platform specially made as well as two lengths of balustrade upstairs. As every property is different, the height of this spiral was custom made and our client selected the materials after consultation with the office.

Comment on Spiral Staircase France – Model 76 from Complete Stair Systems
Nick Rackham
"The real feature of this spiral was the massive top platform. Given the size and weight it had to be transported with its own special frame "
