Project of the Month – Spiral Staircase Covent Garden

Project of the Month – October 2021

Spiral Staircase Covent Garden

Starting this month we are adding a feature ‘Project of the Month‘ onto the website.  A series that has been running for several years on our facebook page (click here to view previous months).

October 2021 – Spiral Staircase Covent Garden

This month we head to central London, where our property developer client was converting several old warehouse units into dwellings in a small Mews in Covent Garden.

Space and light were limited in each of the properties, so an open riser spiral staircase was the perfect solution.  Four spiral staircases were supplied from our custom-made range and made  with a 2000mm diameter to ensure compliance with building regulations as the man stair.

Our client selected beech treads toppings for each spiral along with vertical steel spindles and a steel handrail.  A swooping external stringer was added to each to follow the curve and twist of the spiral, hiding the tread profile at the same time.

To finish, the beech was factory stained black to match the steelwork which was powder coated in a sleek matt black.

These custom spirals are very versatile and due to the variety of materials each model can look very different to the next.  View the gallery of the range and let us know which matches your style.
