May 2023 – Barn Spiral Staircase Whipsnade

Our client was renovating a barn on their land and required access to a small mezzanine.  Although the setting was quite traditional in appearance with exposed timber beams, our customer was very keen to opt for a contemporary design for the spiral.

Our kit models, although cheaper, were dismissed as their range of options and finishes were not comprehensive enough.  Our client was adamant about avoiding timber treads and wanted a relatively clean industrial feel.

Our custom made range offer what she was looking for.  The final specification involved chequer plate steel treads, a winding 8mm outer steel stringer and 8mm curved glass infill panels.  The staircase itself was supplied primed and our client painted the steel a fairly bright blue.  Quite a contrast with the traditional feel to the old barn!
