Project of the Month – September 2023
Walnut Staircase Isle of Man
The focus of this months Project of the Month is an open floating walnut staircase in the Isle of Man. After booking an appointment to visit, our client flew over to see our WF display here in the showroom, and it was love at first sight!!
He required a straight flight to replace an old, enclosed timber monstrosity as part of a refurbishment of his property. Thus was to modernise and open the hallway allowing light to filter in from the front windows.
The staircase was constructed in Walnut parquet and matt lacquered in the factory. The balustrade to one side of the flight consisted of stainless -steel spindles and a walnut handrail with the wall stringer factory painted white to enhance the floating feel of the stair. The length of the opening allowed for the addition of an enlarged and enclosed platform for the bottom step which added a lovely entrance to the stair.
The client selected the L shaped downstands to the treads to comply with the 100mm gap rule whilst giving the appearance of the thicker tread when ascending.
Finally unwrapped the stairs as we have got rid of the trades from the refitted house. I have attached some pictures which we are very pleaded with now we can see them in their full glory. Thanks for all you help and supply. Happy clients!
Cheers
