Wall Spiral Stair Norwich
A curved wall is an attractive feature in a home, and it becomes even more captivating when a spiral staircase is situated at its centre. The curvature of the wall and the staircase complement each other perfectly.
Our client, located in a quaint village near Norwich, was refurbishing a cottage and constructing a curved wall in the hallway. The spiral staircase provided access to a single bedroom and a landing that also served as an office. To comply with regulations, the staircase was constructed with a diameter of 1500mm to ensure a clear tread width of 600mm. Our involvement from the early stages allowed us to advise the client’s builder on the necessary wall radius.
For the staircase, oak was chosen for the treads, and a wall handrail was installed, finished in brushed stainless steel. The steelwork was delivered primed, and the client’s builder painted it on-site in a delicate sage green.
This spiral staircase, like all our custom-made spirals, was meticulously designed before production began. It is crucial to accurately plot the entry and exit points of the stair to ensure it aligns with the curved wall, in addition to getting the height right.
Our client shared these pictures with us upon resettling into their home.
