A local client renovating their barn conversion needed to replace a bulky half-turn staircase.
The new spiral staircase would connect a walkway between the study and bedrooms. After plenty of discussions with the client and builder, we decided on a blend of contemporary style—to complement the new kitchen, lighting, and flooring downstairs—and traditional touches to match the exposed oak beams.
The chosen Model 71 spiral staircase featured solid oak treads, centre column, and handrail, with brushed stainless steel spindles to coordinate with the landing balustrade we also provided. This balustrade, protecting both sides of the walkway, was built with brushed stainless posts and toughened glass infill panels.
