Spiral Staircase Petersfield

The spiral staircase Petersfield project was supplied as part of a barn conversion in a small village near Petersfield, Hampshire.

A small 1500mm diameter spiral was required to provide access to the bedroom and as is was situated in the hallway had to be a real feature.  Our client wasn’t keen on the usual balustrade infills (glass, steel spindles, horizontal rails) and after discussion decided upon a solid steel surround with a handrail bolted to the inside.

So 8mm thick sections of curved steel were supplied which were welded together on site.  The welds were then grinded off before the painter arrived to spray all the steelwork white.  The white offering a great contrast to the oak treads.
