Spiral Staircase Epsom

Our spiral staircase Epsom project was supplied to a new car dealership refurbishment in Epsom.

Brief

The client was carrying out a refurbishment of a large new car dealership in Epsom. As part of the work, they needed additional access to the second floor of the showroom. They already had a large half turn staircase at the back of the showroom, so they wanted an attractive but functional spiral staircase near to the reception desk space downstairs. Like most spiral staircases in this environment, it needed to comply with building regulations as a semi-public stair. It was also important that the staircase aesthetic matched the brand standards of the dealership.

The Solution

Supplying an all metal staircase would not only allow us to achieve the strength required for a semi-public stair, it would also allow us to cost effectively match the colour of the stair to the corporate brand for the dealership. For these reasons, we proposed our Custom Made Spiral Staircase system. To add strength to the structure, we included an external steel stringer. To make the staircase attractive without compromising it’s robustness, we used oak tread toppings on steel plate tread frames, and to enhance the safety of the staircase, we supplied contrasting non-slip nosing to each tread. For a touch of refinement, we added a brushed stainless steel outer handrail.
