Case Study – Model 76

A stunning mix of contemporary and traditional styles in this refurbishment in Anglesey.  A real statement spiral staircase was sought to one end of a large sitting room.  We had now idea of the individual style of the property or the client until we received the photos you see on the right.

Our discussions with the client were about a custom made spiral, light in appearance which would become the focal point within the room.  We duly obliged by specifying the model 76 spiral with glass treads and stainless steel balustrade.  The renovation work was not subject to building control approval so the client selected horizontal rails wrapped around the spiral.  Generally they are frowned upon by building inspectors as they are deemed climbable.

We are very used to seeing a similar modern style of house interior and we were all taken aback when we receive the photos from the customer.  It does offer a lovely blend between old and new.

Like this project, all the model 76 spirals we supply are custom made and made to measure.  Each is produced for the floor to floor height of the given property and careful consideration is given to the entry and exit point.  The rotation can be altered by the angle of each step and the position and size of the top platform.

In this project, the position of the platform was fixed given the position of the doorway upstairs.  Downstairs however it would only work ascending in an anticlockwise rotation with the corridor and walls positioned where they were.
