Our client was converting a chapel in Wells into a home and needed a very tall spiral staircase to access a mezzanine deck high in the eaves. To maintain a light, open feel, we recommended our Model 76 glass spiral staircase with laminated glass treads and a stainless steel balustrade.
The Brief
Our customer needed –
High spiral staircase to reach mezzanine deck in chapel eaves
Light and open design using transparent glass treads
Stainless steel balustrade for modern finish and durability
Matching landing balustrade supplied for the mezzanine opening
The Solution
Following on from a visit to our showroom, our client chose the model 76 spiral staircase with –
Enlarged base plate supplied ahead of the staircase for secure embedding in solid foundations
Subtle bracing bars designed along the staircase to prevent wobble and ensure stability
Glass balustrade added across the mezzanine front for safety and around the circular opening
Horizontal stainless steel rails to the balustrade to enhance the spiral effect
The result is a striking architectural feature that combines a very modern and open spiral staircase in a traditional stone chapel.
