Riser infill Bars

Riser bars are designed to minimise the gap between stair steps.

UK regulations stipulate that the space between treads must not exceed 100mm, a safety measure to prevent children from slipping through.

These bars consist of a 20mm steel bar installed horizontally across the steps, maintaining an open riser while closing the gap.

Generally, the riser bars can be powder-coated to match the steelwork’s color.

To include riser bars in your order, simply select ‘YES’ in the riser bar dropdown menu.

Should you be uncertain about the necessity of riser bars, consult your building control officer.

While these bars can be installed after the staircase is assembled, ordering them separately will incur an additional delivery charge.

Delivery Info

The F20 Spiral Staircase is considered a custom made order and it is dispatched directly from the factory in Italy and delivered to your door.

Delivery times are generally between 4 and 6 weeks from order but this can increase over summer and Christmas periods.

As this is a custom made product we are not able to accept cancelations.

When the staircase arrives in the UK, the transport company will call you directly to arrange a suitable day for delivery.  This is a ‘kerbside’ delivery with most vehicles equipped with a tail-lift and pump truck so the pallet can be wheeled to a safe location across even terrain.  A signature will be required to accept the goods and confirm they have arrived in good condition.  The delivery company generally delivers between 8am and 5pm during the week.

Delivery is included to mainland UK destinations.

For Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, Scottish Isles and Isle of Wight and Isle of Man, please call the office for a door to door shipping cost.

Frequently asked Questions

The hole in the upper floor should be at least 50mm larger than the spiral diameter you are buying.  This is to allow for a knuckle gap clearance as you ascend the spiral. The opening in the floor can be circular or square.  For example, a 1500mm diameter spiral would need a 1550mm diameter or 1550 x 1550mm square minimum hole size.

The F20 Spiral is made to order and produced in Italy.  It generally takes 4-6 weeks to received your spiral.

Your requirement will vary depending on the application, the opening you have in the floor above and the building regulations.  If you have building control officer involved with the work you are doing, please check what diameter they would be happy with as they are signing off the work.  Generally, higher traffic areas would require a larger diameter and low traffic areas would have a smaller diameter.

In the majority of instances, the spiral is installed in a day by 2 people.  This of course will depend on the competency of the individuals and the height of the stair and the amount of landing balustrade.  Some customers opt to employ a builder or carpenter whist more experienced DIYers tackle it themselves.

The entry and exit points of the spiral are a crucial element to consider.  If you have a look at the above plan drawings you will be able to see where you get on and get off the spiral.  Each model can be assembled clockwise or anticlockwise. If in doubt – please get in touch – 01794 522444.
