The Brief
The client engaged us to create a striking feature staircase in their new-build Winchester home that would complement the large entrance hall and allow natural light from the expansive front windows to flow through the space.
The Solution
- Designed a bespoke Model 500 staircase with slim steel stringers and hardwood timber treads to create a modern, open aesthetic.
- Chose zig-zag steel stringers and a frameless glass balustrade to maintain open sightlines and accentuate light flow
- Integrated a beech downstand to the front of treads for UK building-regulation compliance and to visually unify the stair profile.
- Selected finishes and materials that harmonised with the hall’s interior, making the staircase a central architectural feature.
