The Brief
This project involved supplying four bespoke Model 500 staircases for a large internal refurbishment in an exclusive Belgravia mews property for a construction developer. The staircases needed to be coordinated with the finishes and layout of the building while delivering a modern, open aesthetic that complemented the high‑end interior design.
Each flight was carefully designed to meet the developer’s requirements for durable materials, clean lines, and visual cohesion across multiple levels of the property.
The Solution
We manufactured and installed four bespoke Model 500 modern staircases with robust powder‑coated steel stringers and chunky stained oak treads to perfectly match the new flooring throughout the building. Three of the flights were configured in a quarter‑turn layout stacked in the stairwell, while a half‑turn staircase provided access up to the mezzanine level.
To maximise visibility and light, frameless glass balustrades were bolted directly to the sides of the staircases and extended around the voids and mezzanine landing, paired with a brushed stainless steel handrail for a premium finish. The combination of robust timber, sleek steel and transparent glass created a striking modern look that tied the interior together while meeting all client specifications.
