The Brief
The clients were building a contemporary home in Stamford and wanted a staircase that would not only connect their lower and upper living spaces but also maximise the abundant natural light flooding through large rear windows. They specified an open, modern design with glass balustrade and open risers to keep sightlines clear and enhance the sense of space.
Requirements
- allow the passage of light
- statement staircase in front of their feature wall
- timber to match their upstairs flooring
- steel colour to match the surroundings
The Solution
To achieve a light, open, and contemporary look that complemented the architecture, we designed and supplied a bespoke Model 500 staircase with slim steel stringers, generous oak treads, and minimal glass balustrade. The open risers and frameless glass allow daylight to flow deep into the home, while the anthracite finish of the steel adds a sleek, modern contrast.
Delivered Staircase

- Modern steel, glass and timber mix
