This bespoke WF floating timber staircase was supplied for a residential project in Ringwood, Hampshire. Designed to enhance the open-plan interior, the staircase delivers a clean, floating aesthetic while allowing light to flow freely between floors.
The Brief
The client required a staircase that would:
Maintain a light and open feel within the central living space
Feature solid timber treads to complement the interior finishes
achieve sufficient headroom to a doorway under the stairs
Act as a subtle architectural feature rather than a dominant structure
- Finished ‘untreated’ so client can finish with their own stain
The Solution
We designed and supplied a bespoke WF floating staircase featuring:
Cantilevered solid timber treads, creating a true floating appearance
Open risers to maximise light from the roof windows above
Top step was produced deeper to keep headroom for doorway below
beech supplied untreads so customer can use his own stair to match the rest of the timber in the house
