This special helical WF floating staircase was supplied as part of a large residential refurbishment in Longfield, Kent. The design combines a continuous curving handrail to the inner side with tapering treads.
The Brief
The client required a staircase that would:
Perfectly fill the stairwell without dominating the room
Feature solid oak treads with contemporary balustrade detailing
Integrate seamlessly into a major refurbishment project
Deliver a strong architectural presence without overwhelming the space
- Ideally add a curved element to the design
The Solution
We designed and supplied a bespoke WF floating staircase featuring:
- Continuously curving handrail to the inside of the flight creating a helical effect
- Solid Oak treads and wall stringer to match the flooring
90-degree half turn on the wall side to suit the layout of the walls
Stainless steel spindles, providing a clean, modern contrast to the oak
Landing balustrade to match the stair along the edge of the void
