Floating Staircase Ringwood
Just outside the market town of Ringwood, on edge of the New Forest, our client was building a new property. He was building a 4 bedroom detached property with a large open plan double vaulted hallway.
This hallway was crying out for an open and light staircase to take you to the next level. Being local, our customer popped into the showroom to view the range before settling on the WF floating timber staircase.
Beech parquet timber was selected for the treads which is the most economical timber we offer for this staircase. Parquet timber is still solid timber but formed with smaller blocks of beech bonded together. The stair was supplied in a quarter turn configuration hugging the wall with 14 risers. The staircase wall stringer had to clear a doorway downstairs so we had to introduce a small platform level with the upper floor. Our client opted to add the curved inner handrail which added a lovely swooping effect at the turn.
The treads and handrail were supplied untreated as the client had a huge vat of timber oil which he used on the stair, the doors and the windows once they were installed. The wall stringer was factory painted white to blend in with the wall and enhance the floating effect of the staircase. The spindles were brushed stainless steel.
Landing balustrade was supplied upstairs for protection around the opening.
Our client built the property to sell and supplied the pictures when all complete.
