Outdoor spiral stairs are a wonderfully versatile product suitable for a wide variety of settings. They are commonly found as large fire escapes in commercial settings yet also located is small picturesque courtyards in a domestic environment. Their unique space saving form means their ‘foot print’ is limited regardless of the height they are ascending and aesthetically they can create a real sculptural focal point in the right setting. Our external spiral staircases are all custom made and are produced in mild steel and are galvanised as standard for protection against the elements.

Wheather you are looking for a domestic or acommercial apiral for outdoor use, you have come the right place. We have been suppling outdoor spirals stairs across the country for over 20 years to house holders, builder, contractors and property developers.

For our domestic custmers, we understand that custom made spirals are not commonly purchased items so the process in buying one is likely to be unfamiliar. Allow us to guide you and help you find the perfect addition to your property.

What information do you need to work out a price?

The two main elements that determine the price of a spiral staircase are the floor-to-floor height and the diameter. The dimeter tends to be dictated by regulations (view our guide on spiral diameters) and the floor to floor height will tell us the number of steps and riser you need. Unless otherwise requested, the inicial quotation we prepare will be for the standard galvanised model with 10mm vertical steel spindles and non slip perforated treads. At the bottom of ther quotation you will find a list of items which you can selsct from to personlise the stair. Powder coating for example on top of the galvanised finish, a stainless handrail, landing balustrade or curved glass panels instead of spindles can all be slected to give the spiral the look you would like.

The Process

Step 1 – Quotation

Please select a model and let us know the diameter and the floor to floor height you have. You may contact us via phone or email with this information, or simply fill out the form at the bottom. Additionally, feel free to attach or email any photos or drawings.

Step 2 – Finalise details and place order

Once you have confirmed the diameter you need and the finish, it is time to place the order. We will get an invoice prepared for the deposit and let you know the required finished site dims.

Step 3 – Drawings

As with all custom made spiral stairs, we will create the drawings for your chosen spiral. These are required to ensure that the entry and exit points work and that the platform is positioned correctly. Once approved, the spiral can be produced.

Step 4 – Delivery

Manufacture takes between 8-10 weeks depending on the complexity and finish of the spiral. Once the spiral is with the transport company you will receive a call directly to arrange a suitable day for delivery.
