Case Study- Model 76

Our client was refurbishing an older property into a number of exclusive homes in Headingly, Leeds.  The ceilings and therefore floor to floor height were exceptionally high, over 3.5m.  This coupled with a larger 2000mm dimeter meant the staircase was going to be huge in both height and depth.  Because of this and the style of the renovation work being undertaken, a transparent spiral stair was required.

Our client selected the model 76 from our range following a visit to our showroom.  He opted for acrylic treads and vertical stainless steel spindles around the perimeter of the flight, topped with a brushed stainless handrail.

The model 76 spiral is made to measure.  This means that each model is made specifically for the customer in terms of materials and measurements.  The floor to floor height will dictate the number of steps and the usage of the staircase will normally determine the diameter.  The location of walls, doorways and any sloping ceilings (as in this project) will influence the rotation required.  The rotation of the spiral is altered with the angle of the treads and clockwise / anticlockwise assent and the shape and location of the top platform.
