Bespoke Timber Staircase Teddington

Our client required a solid timber staircase for their refurbishment in Teddington. There was an existing platform in the middle of the staircase so, in essence, they required two straight flight stairs with a small barrier joining each flight. Light was limited on the lower level so open risers were a must. To further enhance the passage of light we supplied the WF timber staircase which has no stringer on the exposed side. The treads, handrail, newels and wall stringer were all supplied in Oak and we introduced glass panels on the upper landing level, sat in groves running along the floor rail, handrail and newel posts.

 Oak Floating Staircase

The WF staircase is our most open, floating bespoke timber staircase.  It has no stringer to the internal side so the treads appear to hover in mid air allowing the light to pass through.  This works with a specially designed handrail that has a steel core.  The spindles screw up into this handrail and the treads ‘load’ is therefore transferred to the handrail then to the newels top and bottom.  The WF is available as a straight flight, quarter turn or half turn depending on the location of walls.
