Bespoke Timber Staircase Lowestoft
A property developer was constructing several new dwellings in Lowestoft, Suffolk. In the larger property, a feature staircase was required for the grand hallway to create a real ‘wow’ factor. There were oak floors throughout so an oak timber staircase seemed the obvious choice. The customer however wanted to stay away from a traditional bulky oak staircase. We therefore selected the modern WF floating timber staircase which has open risers and no stringer on the exposed side, maximising the passage of light. This model was supplied with stainless steel spindles on the staircase and toughened glass panels along the landing level.
Large Half Turn Wooden Staircase
The WF staircase is our most open, floating bespoke timber staircase. It has no stringer to the internal side so the treads appear to hover in mid air allowing the light to pass through. This works with a specially designed handrail that has a steel core. The spindles screw up into this handrail and the treads ‘load’ is therefore transferred to the handrail then to the newels top and bottom. The WF is available as a straight flight, quarter turn or half turn depending on the location of walls.
