Bespoke Staircase Basingstoke
This staircase was supplied as part of a new build near Basingstoke in Hampshire. The property was an oak frame build giving a perfect mix of old and new. To replicate this with the staircase, solid oak treads were specified, the steel stringers were painted white to blend in with the walls, and glass panels were used for the balustrade to allow the passage of light.
Matching landing balustrade was supplied along the opening, and glass risers infill the gap between the treads. The property build was self managed by our client and is featured on the Homebuilding and Renovating website here: Barn Style Oak Frame Home
Straight flight Staircase
The model 500 staircase is a modern, bespoke domestic staircase.
The structure consists of 10mm steel stringers either side of hardwood treads with newel posts or glass panels bolted directly to the side of the stringers. The model 500 modern staircase can be purchased as a straight flights, quarter turn or half turn with the 90 degree and 180 degree turns formed with winding treads or platforms.
The stringers to each side are laser cut to form various different shapes. A zig zap top and bottom low profile stringer is very popular as is the ‘crocodile back’ flat bottom and zig zag top option. There is also the option to have a plate stringer with a flat. straight upper and lower side. These stringers are powder coated to any RAL colour or supplier in brushed or polished stainless steel.
Treads – Oak, Beech, Maple, Ash, Birch, Walnut
Treads are either supplied with a matt laquer finish or stained or oiled. They tend to be 40 or 50mm thick although we have recently supplied several 100mm solid timber treads.
To keep the staircase open and light whilst adhering with the 100mm riser gap regulation, there are the following solutions:
– Steel riser bars
– L shaped treads with timber downstand
– Half glass or acrylic riser pieces
– Full glass or acrylic riser pieces
– Fully closed risers with timber
The balustrade itself is in-filled by either:
– Vertical stainless steel spindles
– Horizontal stainless steel rails
– Framed glass infill panels with stainless steel newel posts
– Frameless glass panels bolted directly to the side of the stringer or sat in a steel channel
– Perforated steel panels with stainless newel posts
Each Model 500 modern staircase supplied is unique. The riser height, pitch angle and going depth are created specifically to suit the opening, staircase configuration and floor to floor height of the project. Each model is ‘dry’ fitted in the factory before dispatch to ensure all parts fit together.
