Project of the Month – September 2024
Glass Staircase Dartmouth
The historic navel town of Dartmouth is our destination for this month’s eagerly anticipated ‘project of the month’. Situated along bank of the river Dart, this picturesque town oozes charm and character. Looking down on the town are tightly packed rows of houses with stunning views across the estuary and it was in one of these houses that our client needed two new staircases.
The property was going through a significant refurbishment and was being transformed in to a very modern open plan home. Space is at a significant premium along these tight roads and most of the properties are quite slim. The openings for these staircase were only 900mm wide and we had to fit a half turn staircase above a quarter turn flight so it was quite a squeeze.
Our customer choose the model 500 system which incorporates thin steel stringers, timber treads and frameless glass balustrade. It is very open and modern stair which was the perfect choice for the setting.
The treads were supplied in solid maple to match the flooring being used on each level and frameless glass which was bolted directly to the side of the staircase and to the edge of each floor to protect the stairwells. Our client selected the stringers with a flat bottom and zig zag top and were powder coated to 9006.
The model 500 staircase is a very versatile staircase which is custom made to the shape and height required. For a price for your own custom model 500 staircase please fill out the form below.
