October 2023 – Acrylic Spiral Staircase Leicester-

In 2020, the Covid outbreak had a major impact on everyone in the country.  All industries suffered including construction.  Our client in Leicester was one of many people who was part way though a major renovation when the country shutdown. This left him with a partially finished property with no builders and difficulty sourcing materials and supplies.  By March 2020 we had been discussing the spiral staircase  for several months and was on the verge of confirming the order.  Fortunately, as the chosen spiral was made in Italy who were coming out of their lockdown, we were able to fulfil and complete the order.  The staircase was delivered a couple of months later in time for the builders returning to site.

Our client’s renovation required a modern and open spiral staircase  which needed to be both the centre piece of the room and allow the passage of light.   Our Model 76 spiral stair was selected which has either acrylic or glass treads.  He selected the acrylic treads and curved acrylic balustrade for maximum transparency.

The spiral was a secondary spiral so a 1600mm diameter was selected and it was produced with 14 risers for the 2568mm floor to floor height.  Stainless steel riser bars were supplied to ensure the gap between the treads was less than 100mm (for building regulations).

Although the entire job was severely delayed by Covid, our client was thrilled when it was completed and forwarded us these pictures when he moved in.
