Case Study Model 76

Just off the very in the costal town of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight was the setting for this project.  A external spiral staircase and a run of frameless glass balustrade was required for this renovation of a holiday home for our clients.

After much discussion with the architect and the contractor a design was finalised using our model 76 spiral staircase.  Given its proximity to the sea, 316 grade stainless steel was used throughout to ensure protection against erosion.  The spiral itself had to be constructed with an enlarged top platform to push the centre column away from the building to allow access to the doorway below.  This involved creating a stainless steel frame for the glass platform to sit on.

The final result was beautiful and you could really imagine oneself sitting out in the summer and calmly watching the boats come and go.

Internal or external, each model 76 spiral staircase is custom made for the setting and the material requirements of the customer.

Each is produced to a specific floor to floor height and the rotation is designed, taking into consideration the setting and ay constraints.  This model for example had a custom made platform to allow the door below to be used.

The treads on the model 76 are either acrylic or glass and the balustrade is formed with vertical stainless spindles (like this project) or curved acrylic or glass panels.  It is a spiral with the ultimate wow factor, designed to be the focal point inside or out.
